Whenever I'm fed up with working on one project, drawing Niyati or Nina is always a welcome break. There was another variation to this dress's colors, but ya'll know I can get carried away. This was a quickie anyway. I used plenty of stock to save time. Not because I'm lazy, but because I wanted it to look like I worked hard on it without spending 8+ hours, like I'm prone to doing, especially since this was just to break away from the monotonous job of editing and re-editing The Renegades.

I like it :) and it definitely reminds me of  this one, I did years ago... which I'm surprised I never posted to this blog, but now that I think about it, that was because I completed it my very LAST semester of college and I began maintaining this blog right after I graduated. Wow. Happy 8 year Sketchblog anniversary to me!


(P.S. 2/24/17) You know, I think when I created Niyati, my inspiration was definitely Esmeralda, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But I also can see, now, Rita Moreno in all her gorgeous, skirt  sashaying, West Side Story glory in her spirit. I wanted to BE Anita when I was little. She had this proud glow about her that made her so gorgeous and in this picture I think I definitely subconsciously channeled it into Niyati.

 I've been working on and refining this "Tiki City" concept ever since I got the option to ask AI to imaginate for me. The first two are some of the very first Midjourney prompts I ever made out of the first free 25, because I never paid after they started charging for it. Between Three different generators, the prompts are generally the same, so the AI is clearly getting better as an artist. But also, the concept of this city is getting so clear, maybe these ancestral streets exist somewhere and the portal is opening wide like the mouth of a Lion. 🤷

The Great Divide

My second ever attempt at environment painting... It's okay :\ It's a good start I guess T_T. I need to practice... This was my point of reference. I'm  sorry I just have to confess this and get it off my chest. Completely unrelated to this painting- Big Bang is taking over my life. I don't know what on Earth is posessing me to fangirl at this maniacal, psychotic level, but I missed their concert in New Jersey a few weeks ago and it's tearing my soul apart. I regret it DEEPLY. I have NEVER felt this way about any celebrity(s), EVER. I can't even choose one bias (favorite)- It stresses me out just to think about having to choose. I love them ALL SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH that it is probably causing some irreverisble psychological damage to my mental health.
