I'm working on a new project. So busy busy busy. This was a quickie and went pretty quickly for how good it looks. I'm proud of it. :)

Roxy Speedpaint

It actually took longer than a speedpaint should allow, but thats because I was being a perfectionist about it. Because I just coundnt get the face right. Ugh.

Whenever I'm fed up with working on one project, drawing Niyati or Nina is always a welcome break. There was another variation to this dress's colors, but ya'll know I can get carried away. This was a quickie anyway. I used plenty of stock to save time. Not because I'm lazy, but because I wanted it to look like I worked hard on it without spending 8+ hours, like I'm prone to doing, especially since this was just to break away from the monotonous job of editing and re-editing The Renegades. I like it :) and it definitely reminds me of   this one , I did years ago... which I'm surprised I never posted to this blog, but now that I think about it, that was because I completed it my very LAST semester of college and I began maintaining this blog right after I graduated. Wow. Happy 8 year Sketchblog anniversary to me! (P.S. 2/24/17) You know, I think when I created Niyati, my inspiration was definitely Esmeralda, from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But I also

WHOO! Man this was a challenge. I've always been really so bad with cityscapes. It's  one thing to draw people, but buildings and lighting over landscapes takes on different properties. Anyway this is gonna be the cover for The Renegades which is projected to be published and released in e-book format by Labor day!!!  I don't think it's quite finished yet, but I dunno... its pretty close. This is supposed to be the view of the city from Caduceon when Roxy first wakes up and sees it from the balcony. That being said, I wanted to add the balcony probably at the bottom of the picture with her standing with her back facing the viewer. But so far, I'm satisfied with it :) Yey for getting out of my comfort zone! I made a page on Legendaery with all the character descriptions and in the meantime I'm working editing and made a kickstarter for some funds to print actual paperback books! What fun!

I painted my Danish friend whose hair is not even exaggerated in this picture. Seriously, her hair is awesome.

SCAD throwbacks

While cleaning out my hdd I found some old class projects circa 2007-08 that I  completely  forgot about...and they're not that bad :), I mean, I think I've definitely improved, but my style was coming along nicely at that time, if I do say so myself.

Insignia Fall Collection

Narrowed down...  -_-; I like to see 14 years  over 4 frames. Keeps me inspired!

Roxy (UPDATE)

Image
I need that shaggy yellow top, ASAP.  Throwback.  Edit 7/15/16: When I initially drew this, I decided to have fun and come up with an outfit on the spot, rather than follow the details outlined in the actual story for what Roxy is wearing. She's also way too pale in the first one, so I  changed  it a bit to a more accurate depiction of how she really looked, walking out of Insignia, lol. and then some... though the middle one is how I imagined it, I gotta say number 3 is kinda my favorite. Then again... Decisions... Decisions... ...I think I officially need a second opinion....

Hi Fellicia

Image
A portrait for the lovely Fellicia who was so kind as to commission me. It's refreshing to do a quick one like this and it looks good because she knew what she wanted! I'm opening up again for all who are interested on Legendaery ... I need to tweak the sizes though, because its $50.00 for 17x22 in at 150 dpi! Wauw! Thats a poster.

Facebook Commissions maybe

Image
I had an idea of doing Facebook portraits and covers to advertise my illustrious social media services. This here is an example I made for a friend who gets a decent amount of traffic on her page. Life: I 've been pretty good about maintaining this blog since I graduated college in 2008. Hell, I put more art up here than I do on my official portfolio sites. But since Tumblr kinda overtook Blogger in the realm of popularity at some point, I  never really advertised this outlet for a few reasons. Number one, this blog somewhat doubles as a journal and gets really personal at times. Number two, most times I'm just doodling or sketching and most of the work I post, I don't think is good enough quality to pass off as portfolio-worthy. That being said, I am pretty proud to say I've been consistent for 8 years with this. This blog has seen some tough times, heartbreak, the rise and fall of my professional career and so on; so this blog has become more to me than just a S
